A Day in the Life

I started this blog as a way to keep out-of-town friends and family updated on my life. It morphed into a craft blog, and is now a combination of both! Watch for posts containing my most recent crafts and projects, as well as simply an update on my life. I love to journal, and blogging is a great medium. This is my life in a nutshell. Enjoy! :)

Junior Year!

I would first like to apologize to my loyal fans who followed me even when I didn't post for almost a year.. NOT! I know of SEVERAL relatives who shall remain nameless (..David..) who deleted my blog from their favorites. Well I've got news for you.. I'm back!

That said, I'm now at the beginning of my junior year in college. Does anyone ELSE feel really old?! Wow, it is such a weird feeling to be on the back nine of my college career.. My sister, Stephanie, started college this fall and she's at Tech with me! It's going to be so much fun having her up here. We've already hung out a few times, and I've let her buy my lunch on campus twice :) She seems to be having a ton of fun with her new friends, considering she's ALWAYS doing something! Anyone surprised? She also has a blog to keep you up to date with her college experiences. Here's the link: www.stephguthrie.blogspot.com

Well as some of you may know, I've been a bit indecisive in my quest for a college degree that agrees with me.. But I think I really found it this time! My newest (and LAST) major is accounting! Here's a little timeline for you: My freshman year, I was a Nutritional Sciences major; I switched to Restaurant and Hotel Management my sophomore year; at the end of my sophomore year I decided to switch to regular business Management in the college of business; while taking lower level business classes, I took a class called Principles of Financial Accounting and LOVED IT! I was told that if you are crazy enough to actually enjoy accounting and you're good at it too then it should absolutely be your concentration. Sooo I switched again. I finish up my lower level classes this semester and start upper level accounting in the spring! I'm actually really excited about this change because accounting is something I really do enjoy. I know I'm a nerd, but I have no problem with that. The only downside to accounting is the (almost) required year of graduate school.. But we'll jump that hurdle when it comes!

This semester is going well so far. I'm taking five freshman classes! Since I switched to a new college, I have to take all of THEIR required math classes, freshman seminars, etc. So this is a semester of catch up! I'm taking Intro to Business Administration; Mathematical Analysis II; Managerial Accounting; Information Systems (a computers class); US History (Steph is in my class!); and Intermediate Spanish Conversation. It should be a good semester.

The next big event: TEXAS TECH FOOTBALL!! The first game is next Saturday and I'm SO excited!

The next big event after that.. MY 21ST BIRTHDAY! I'm also (obviously) really excited about that. I'm planning a trip to Las Vegas to see my cousin Wendy and, of course, to experience Las Vegas as an adult who is allowed to stop walking in the casinos!

And on the 20th.. I will have been dating Joel for a year! I can't believe it's been almost a year already. He has been SUCH a blessing in my life. He is such an amazing man of God! A lot of you got to meet him at the family reunion over the 4th of July.. and to those who missed out, come visit us in Lubbock!

Well I'm off to church now, but I really will try to keep up with this blog better this year!
